Airspace management for the next era of flight…
Vigilant Aerospace Systems is a leading developer of “detect-and-avoid” (DAA) and airspace management software for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS). As a CS3 partner, Vigilant Aerospace Systems supports the consortium’s commitment to next-generation autonomy with its FlightHorizon software built for traffic awareness and scalable safety workflows. FlightHorizon is based on two licensed NASA patents, and
draws on multiple data sources to deliver a clear air traffic picture around UAS and provide avoidance maneuvers to help reduce collision risk.
FlightHorizon supports drone operators, manufacturers, droneports, and military commands. These teams use the system to integrate drones and other autonomous aircraft into shared airspace with traffic awareness and consistent safety workflows. FlightHorizon is built to align with widely used industry technical standards and supports pathways towards beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flight approval.
FlightHorizon Products
FlightHorizon TEMPO: Ground-based airspace management system for droneports, test sites, and flight corridors. TEMPO supports site monitoring and range operations using radar, ADS-B In, and Remote ID, depending on configuration.
FlightHorizon ALERT: Ground-based airspace monitoring and alerting for facilities, infrastructure sites, or airfields. ALERT provides local awareness using ADS-B In and Remote ID, with a web-based interface for operators and safety teams.
FlightHorizon PILOT-M: Onboard DAA system for military UAS applications. PILOT-M displays cooperative and non-cooperative inputs, detects conflicts, and provides resolution advisories.
FlightHorizon PILOT-C: Onboard DAA software for civil and commercial UAS and chase aircraft use cases. PILOT-C supports onboard traffic awareness workflows intended to enable BVLOS operations. It also detects conflicts and provides resolution advisories.
Program Experience
Vigilant Aerospace Systems has supported programs and contracts with NASA, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the U.S. Department of War (DoW). One current project is Vigilant Aerospace Systems installation of FlightHorizon TEMPO at Clinton-Sherman Airport for the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA). The project supports Oklahoma’s effort to strengthen and expand in-state testing for UAS operations, autonomous flight, and future space operations.
Consortium Partnership
Vigilant Aerospace Systems’ participation in the CS3 EGS consortium reflects how specialized member capabilities can complement each other in practice. FlightHorizon collision avoidance and ground-based airspace management software can combine with the consortium’s broader technical and program expertise to support integrated solutions for aerospace, defense, and commercial requirements, particularly where scalable deployment and mission alignment matter.
